Sothink Glanda: Quick Flash Button Moviesby Nathan Segal November 8, 2001
At Streaming Media World, users have been consistently interested in third party applications to create Flash effects without a steep learning curve. An example of such an application is Sothink Glanda, which allows you to create Flash buttons. Glanda provides many pre-made elements and resources, which can be modified to create many thousands of possibilities. A key feature of Glanda is that it was designed for beginners, with an emphasis on making the program easy to learn.
According to Rachel W., of the Internet Sales & Marketing Department for Sothink, Glanda makes the process of creating flash effects easy. Firstly, it does not require users to have flash skill, experience or other art design skill. Secondly, it has a very clear and friendly interface. By clicking several buttons, users can create a Flash effect. A WYSIWYG design window and built-in Flash player lets users edit Flash effects." "Furthermore, Glanda provides up to 199 great templates and a great deal of resources. Users can create a wide variety of Flash animations such as Flash buttons, navigation panels, graphic logos and splash pages for your web pages by a few mouse clicks. Users can customize these pre-made effects by replacing shapes, adding text, link, sound (*.wav or *.mp3) or a background image (*.jpg), etc. It can also work as an "add-in" program of FrontPage so that there is no difficulty to add the movie into a web page. Glanda also supports bitmaps. Because most of its features rely on pre-made templates, there are limits to creative expression. At this point, you cannot import other SWF files, but these will be implemented in newer version of the software."
