A first look at this wonder necessarily starts with the text editor. The text editor is simply a text entry dialog box. The text you enter here will be the text that will be used in the text effect.

To enter text, simply click on the ERASE ALL TEXT button to clear the field. Now click in the field and type your text in. Once this is done you can either minimise the dialog box or close it completely. Don't worry about your text, it has automatically been saved into FLASHtyper's memory.

You may edit your text at any time during the process of generating a text effect. To edit simply maximize the text entry dialog box or click on the text editor button in the menu. The dialog box will appear and you can then edit to your heart's content.

The Color dialog box allows you to select the color of the text. To do this, simply click on a color in the palette. The color selected will appear in the box in the bottom right hand corner. Further refinement allows you to make an exact RGB color.

You can either minimize the dialog box or close the editor down completely once you have finished. Don't worry about your settings, they has automatically been saved into FLASHtyper's memory. You may edit your text color at any time during the process of generating a text effect. To edit simply maximise the color editor or click on the color editor button in the menu. The dialog box will appear and you can then edit what you've done.

The Text Effect Editor is the nerve centre of FLASHtyper. It allows you to select and preview your favorite text effects before you generate them. There are hundreds of text effects from which to choose from so you are also able to maintain a list of your favorites using Flashkit's myFK service. This editor will also provide you with the ability to edit or add more. If you do not have any effect listed click on the ADD MORE button.

To select a text effect, simply click on one of the effects in your list. This will then load an example of the effect in the preview window. If you feel you are having trouble seeing the effect in the window, click on the BIG PREVIEW button. This will open a new browser window with a larger version of the effect. To replay the effect, click on the [PLAY AGAIN] button.
