New Product Offerings from Matrox (5)
For Infonet TV, you dont need to do anything. You set up your channel, purchase this web add-on and you tell it where to send the web content. It could be to your ISP or off your machine, because you get an Apache server when you purchase Infonet TV. Your machine could be the web server.
Nathan: How do you take care of compression? Tony: Thats all done in software. And its pretty much done when you launch the show. For the first few minutes, all the show content is being converted to the Windows Media format and then thats all sent to the folder, IP address or wherever you happen to be storing the content. Nathan: Now what about QuickTime? I havent heard you mention that. Tony: At the moment, we dont do anything for hardware acceleration of QuickTime, though you can export QuickTime from Premiere. Nathan: Was there any particular reason for that? Tony: No. In development, we chose to work with Real and Windows Media and to deal with that for now.
