Adjusting Other Picture Settings
The default settings are to send and receive both audio and video. To change the default settings, go to the Media Settings menu by clicking on the Menu button on the Control Console. Then, select Options and then Media Settings. This will open up the Media Settings dialog box. If you do not wish to send video, check off Send video and leave that box blank. If you do not wish to send audio, check off Send audio and leave that box blank. In this menu, you can also adjust the picture size. The default Picture Size is Standard (176x144). You can increase the Preview window and the receiving window sizes by selecting Medium (240x176) or Large (352x288). Adjusting The Volume It's really totally idiot-proof: no fuss, no muss. Right now, it's all free, though in coming months there will be higher-level packages that will pull a monthly fee depending on how much bandwidth and time you chew up (this is really targeted to businesses, not consumers). In addition, the capability of conferencing with up to six people, sending video clips, and adding simultaneous text as you go are going to be rolled out soon. All in all, it's just as simple and easy as these things can - and should - be. The hardest part for many of us will be to find out who among our desired communicants have Webcams sitting on top of their screens.
